Too Young to Retire, the perfect retirement gift for those who aren't calling it quits, is available where books are sold.

Facilitator Certification Training

Professional coaches -- life, career, transition -- career counselors, social workers, & professionals in team building/leadership development.  Here's an opportunity to earn a credential that positions you to serve the 50+ population in designing a second act.  Here's what recent graduates say about the training:

“Out of all the coaching classes I have taken, this far exceeds any of them.” -- Susan Scholl, Professional Life Coach

"The course met my expectations. No, it exceeded my expectations. It provided me with me new ideas for helping individuals 50+ to see themselves fulfilling dreams they never thought of as possible. The Conversation Café style of coaching creates an ‘ah ha’ moment for everyone involved. I have been searching for a methodology of how to coach via Group workshop instead of the one-on-one coaching or using a psychological tool (i.e., 360º). The motivational part of 2Y2R concept is about sharing and learning from each other and helping them to realize their passion. It unites with a purpose and meaning for all involved.

--  Barbara Atkins,

“…the 4-5 topics covered in the book and the course (wellness, work, volunteering, money, travel) capture in a nutshell the issues that boomers need to look at in order to move forward.  I appreciated the opportunity to look in some depth at each one, and to be given the materials in order to help future clients do the same.”  -- Martha Plotkin, Lead Career Counselor, Career Moves, Jewish Vocational Service; Boston, MA

“I loved the Conversation Café style of the class.”

Linda J. Brown; Professional Coach, Los Gatos, California

"Thanks very much for the additional valuable resources.  I am going to miss our Tuesday classes and your generous spirit." -- Terre Tuzzolino, Executive Coach, Evanston, Illinois

“I took the Too Young To Retire coaching certification because I know Howard and Marika Stone know what they are talking about. They are pioneers in helping people understand there’s a new life ahead after work. I also liked it that the course is anchored in their book. I found the course not only helpful in enhancing my knowledge base and honing my skills, but offering great support for marketing my coaching practice. Not only that, it connected me to a great group of colleagues eager to learn and share and dedicated to “un-retirement” coaching.” -- Alexandra Mezey, LICSW, Life Clarity Coaching, Newburyport, Mass.

“I appreciate most about the course that it got me moving on a marketing plan.”  -- Beverly Berner, PCC, President, Act 2, St. Louis, Missouri

About your target audience:

The first wave of baby boomers now entering their 60s, the largest, most demanding, and most examined generation in history, is already facing up to a future that looks nothing like their parents' second half of life.

Healthier and more youthful than their parents, they will enjoy many bonus years of life.

Unlike their parents for whom secure jobs and pension-funded retirements were bedrock, baby boomers recognize they will need to be as self-reliant and self-starting about the next part of life as they have been about their careers and lives to date.

They are seeking like-minded others for guidance, support and community.

Boomers as a group have been hard-working big spenders and poor savers, and most now recognize that leisure-based retirement is a thing of the past.  The majority will seek work, but on 'their own terms,' thus redefining work itself.

Many boomers, according to the recent Civic Ventures/MetLife study will seek to 'do well by doing good' in the next phase of life, in service professions like teaching and healthcare.
