Too Young to Retire ... is an offshoot of a Web site the authors run for retirees and those with aspirations to retire. The site, 2young2retire.com, includes stories about ordinary people who, instead of accepting traditional retirement, have made transitions to new and what they consider more interesting careers and lives. This little gem of a book offers sage advice on everything from downsizing to diet and exercise. One of my favorite chapters — "101 Opportunities for the Open-Minded" — contains a list of new career opportunities that includes activities as diverse as astrology, dog walking and teaching. In many cases, a Web address is provided to help you start.
Fred Brock
, The New York Times columnist and author of Retire on Less Than You Think

"Tens of millions of Americans are rapidly approaching a new stage of life. These individuals moving beyond the middle years can look out ahead to decades of sustained health and well-being.  They want more than the golden years and the golf course.  They are looking to lead lives that still matter.  And now these pioneers on the frontiers of a new kind of aging have a masterful guide to help them navigate their way through uncharted terrain. Actually, they have two masterful guides: Howard and Marika Stone, and their remarkable book Too Young To Retire.  This volume packs considerable wisdom and unfailing guidance into 150 pages of lively prose.  It's one-stop shopping for how we can make the most of the rest of our lives."
Marc Freedman
, Prime Time: How Baby-Boomers Will Revolutionize Retirement and Transform America and founder of Civic Ventures

"Written with wit and invincible optimism, Too Young To Retire offers resources of the intellect, conscience, and soul to turn the last half of life into the reward we spent the first half working to find.”

Theodore Roszak, Longevity Revolution: As Boomers Become Elders

800-CEO-Read  From founder Jack Covert:  After spending an afternoon reading the book I must say I am seriously impressed with Marika and [Howard's] stories and how they present the concept that in fact we don't need to retire.   We can continue to grow and prosper into our dotage.  I am not a fan of self help/personal finance kind of books but this book surprised me with the insights it supplied.

Amazon.com   Midwest Book Review: Motivational speaker Howard Stone and yoga teacher Marika Stone team up in Too Young To Retire to present readers with a down-to-earth instructional guide which is drawn from the authors own lives as a couple, their research, and several assorted case histories in order to present practical and effective alternatives to retirement -- including stimulating work and community service. From opportunities to earn money or participate in business, to volunteering one's time, to traveling for fun and profit, Too Young To Retire is an exciting and dynamic self-help instructional guide for charting new possibilities for the future and highly recommended reading -- especially for anyone over the age of 62 and not ready for the rocking chair/nursing home slide into oblivion.

Curled Up  For anyone facing retirement, or already in their retirement years, Too Young To Retire offers a shot in the arm of inspiration, advice and exciting ideas for those who must keep on working beyond the age of 65, not just because they have to, but because they want to. The authors, whom co-founded an online community of retirement alternatives (www.2young2retire.com), offer up over 100 suggestions, exercises, tips, ideas and alternatives to sitting around in your later years doing nothing and feeling like you are invisible. These ideas run the gamut from taking up a new hobby and making money from it, to becoming politically active, to learning a new trade or skill, to starting a business. With their brand of wit and optimism, the Stone’s make their case for a “third life” filled with fulfillment, purpose and contribution.  More...
